Projekt ''Engaging Escape Games for Environmental Awareness''

Erasmus+ Project "Engaging Escape Games for Environmental Awareness" and  numbered "2023-2-PL01-KA210-SCH-000178453".

Nasz projekt “Engaging Escape Games for Environmental Awareness” został zainspirowany pilną potrzebą poradzenia sobie problemy środowiskowe i zmiany klimatyczne w skali globalnej, a także ważną rolę, jaką odgrywa edukacja odpowiedzialnych i dobrze poinformowanych obywateli. Celem naszego projektu jest pomoc nauczycielom, a co za tym idzie, uczniom w przezwyciężaniu barier międzyludzkich rozbieżności między tym, co wiedzą o problemach środowiskowych w teorii, a tym, co wiedzą o nich w prawdziwym życiu.

Wiele krajów europejskich, w tym Polska, boryka się ze złymi skutkami zmian klimatycznych, m.in. ekstremalne zjawiska pogodowe, rosnące temperatury oraz wynikający z nich wpływ na grunty rolne i różnorodność biologiczną. Na przykład, w 2018 r. w Polsce panowała fala upałów, jakiej nigdy wcześniej nie było. Spowodowało to poważną suszę, która dotknęła oba miasta i farmy. Polska jest także jednym z krajów w Europie, który emituje najwięcej gazów klimatycznych, głównie ze względu na zużycie węgla by wytwarzać energię.

Dzięki Europejskiemu Zielonemu Ładowi, którego celem jest uczynienie UE neutralną klimatycznie do 2050 r., Europa jako całość zmierza w kierunku zielonej zmiany. Aby jednak osiągnąć te wzniosłe cele, muszą to zrobić ludzie ze wszystkich środowisk, począwszy od systemu szkolnego zrozumieć i bardzo się o nie troszczyć. Nauczyciele znajdują się na pierwszej linii frontu tych wysiłków, ponieważ kształtują myśli i postawy młodych ludzi wobec ochrony środowiska i spowalniania zmian klimatycznych.

Nasz projekt próbuje rozwiązać te ważne problemy, tworząc angażujące i interaktywne doświadczenie edukacyjne, które nie tylko pomaga nauczycielom lepiej uczyć o środowisku, ale także zwiększa zainteresowanie uczniów i ich świadomość ważne problemy pod ręką.  

Our project, "Engaging Escape Games for Environmental Awareness," was inspired by the urgent need to deal with environmental problems and climate change on a global scale, as well as the important role that education plays in making citizens who are responsible and well-informed. The goal of our project is to help teachers and, in turn, students bridge the gap between what they know about environmental problems in theory and what they know about them in real life.

Many European countries, including Poland, have been dealing with the bad effects of climate change, such as extreme weather events, rising temperatures, and the effects on farmland and biodiversity that come from these things. For example, in 2018, Poland had a heatwave that had never happened before. This caused a serious drought that affected both cities and farms. Also, Poland is one of the countries in Europe that puts out the most climate gases, mostly because it uses coal to make energy.

With the European Green Deal, which aims to make the EU climate-neutral by 2050, Europe as a whole is moving in the direction of a green shift. But to reach these lofty goals, people from all walks of life, starting with the school system, need to understand and care deeply about them. Teachers are on the front lines of this effort because they shape the thoughts and attitudes of young people about protecting the environment and slowing down climate change.

Our project tries to solve these important problems by creating an engaging and interactive learning experience that not only helps teachers become better at teaching about the environment, but also gets students interested in and aware of the important problems at hand. We want to make environmental education more interesting and successful by using the fun and educational aspects of escape games.

Funding this project would not only help teachers and students in Poland and the rest of Europe learn more about the environment, but it would also encourage more people to get involved in order to reach the lofty climate goals set by the European Union. The project is also a proactive step towards creating a culture of environmental responsibility among young people, whose actions and choices will have a big effect on the future of our world. In effect, the money given to this project is an investment in raising a generation that understands climate change and cares about the environment. This will help Poland and Europe move closer to a sustainable and resilient future in the face of the worsening global environmental crisis.
